The government has given special priority to cyber security. During the pre-budget discussion in the parliament, Minister for Finance, Communications and Information Technology Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada mentioned that cyber security will be a priority in the budget of the coming fiscal year 2077-2078 BS.
Recently, the issue of cyber security has been under discussion. The incidence of data theft is increasing. Therefore, keeping this in mind, the government is preparing to address cyber security through the budget.
In addition, the Digital Nepal Framework, which has not been implemented for a long time, will also get priority in next year’s budget. The framework has not yet been implemented to the public through an event held at Hotel Solti on August 3, 2018.
The framework, which has been stuck in the ministry and the cabinet for a long time, was approved by the cabinet last year after one year. The framework has been prepared with the objective of achieving the goals of development and prosperity by making maximum use of digital technology as the basis of knowledge based society and digital economy, and providing public services to the common people in a simple and easy way.
However, it has not been able to present any significance as it has not been implemented. Therefore, keeping this in mind, it has been given priority in the budget of the coming fiscal year, said Minister Khatiwada.
